His love for food started at a young age, Kenji Eshima first went to work for Namikos at the age of 15. Just as most kids are trying to find a place in society Kenji had found his calling in food. Although Kenji has no formal training or schooling in the cooking field, he has an exceptional palette and an eye for detail which cannot be taught. Kenji’s specialty menu consists of dishes developed with creative inspiration maybe from a picture, scent, or memory of some food had eaten in the past. Namikos Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar has been Kenji’s home for almost all of his adult life. He has been able to develop his personal style of amazing dishes along with traditional Japanese Sushi. If you’re lucky enough to catch Kenji’s lemon pepper kanpachi or his Tuna tar tar with garlic bread, order it before its gone! Chili soy seasoned Maguro and Hamachi tartare over a crispy fried sushi rice garnished with black tobiko and cilantro
Seared Lemon peppered Kanpachi, charred asparagus with a garlic ponzu
Maguro with a wasabi yuzu dressed soba noodle, garnished with hiyashi wakame, tobiko and kizami nori
Namikos has been in business since December 1988 located in the Arvada marketplace just off of I 70 and Wadsworth an easily accessible location with abundance of free parking. Namikos has expanded twice during its long life and has a mesmerizing aquatic theme with over 2200 gallons of salt water aquariums for customers to enjoy. Kenji heads up the sushi bar and handles all of the ordering associated with the bar and the back of the house.
